September

• Check ACT www.actstudent.org and SAT www.collegeboard.com registration deadlines
• Review college applications for early admittance incentives
• Apply to technical programs
• Attend meetings with college representatives in the Career Center during SNAP
• Check out the MCIS webpage www.mncis.intocareers.org for college and occupation information

October

• Watch for scholarship applications in the Career Center and check deadlines
• Attend the Minnesota National College Fair
• Fall Break- schedule college visits during the break
• Make sure you have taken or registered for the ACT or SAT
• Obtain college applications and check early deadlines
• Ask for recommendation letter two weeks before the deadline
• Review and complete your community service

November - December

• Check college application deadlines and finalize plans
• Apply for scholarships

January

• Obtain FAFSA (Free Applications for Federal Student Aid) in the guidance office or online
• Fill out financial aid forms
• Hand in college mid-year reports to your Guidance Counselor
• Register for ACT if needed

February - May

• Review college acceptances and make final decision, reply promptly to college
• Watch for local scholarship deadlines
• Complete senior survey
• Make sure credits are on track for graduation
• Make sure your community service hours are complete
• Request a FINAL TRANSCRIPT to be sent to your college
