Thursday, May 14th there will be the annual 3 Sport Breakfast & Athlete of the Year Ceremony held in the PAC. Donut/Coffee Social begins around 6:45am, Awards ceremony will begin at 7:15am with the 3-Sport Awards before concluding with the Athlete of the Year Award around 8:00 am. All are welcome to attend and support this year's award recipients!

Cap & Gown Distribution: Tuesday, May 12th - During all lunches 11:30am - 1:00pm and after school 3:20pm - 4:30pm. Wednesday, May 13th - Before school 7:00am - 8:30am and during lunches 11:15am - 12:50pm.
Important: All outstanding fees must be paid before you can pick up your cap and gown. There is no cost for the cap and gown; the district covers the full fee. The cap and gown are yours to keep after graduation.

It's May so it's time to get the STMA School Garden ready! If you need community service this is a great opportunity to wrap up your hours for the year. We will be working this Wednesday, May 6 from 3:30-5:00, moving dirt, pulling weeds, and getting the gardens ready to plant. No need to sign up, just show up at the garden near the baseball fields after school on Wednesday - bring work gloves if you have some! Attention sophomores - some of you will be invited to take the 10th grade MCA Science test this Wednesday (3/25) or Thursday (3/26). This is for students who finished science in trimester two. If you currently have a science class, you will test later in April. You will receive a pass the day before the test. 🎳 Adapted Bowling Student Managers Needed! 🎳 We’re looking for responsible, positive, and enthusiastic students to serve as student managers for Adapted Bowling this season! Managers play an important role by supporting athletes at practices, helping with equipment, encouraging teamwork, and making the season a fun and successful experience for everyone. Practices are held on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:30–5:00 PM at Big Al's. Interested students must email Coach Rule (cassandraru@mystma.org) to express interest. Once you email, you’ll receive the interview form with the next steps. 10th-grade students who have signed up to take the Pre-ACT on Wednesday, February 11th, should arrive to main the gym between 8:10-8:20 AM for check-in. Testing will begin promptly at 8:30 AM. Do you want to celebrate your culture and potentially win a generous prize? - It's a win-win! The Foreign Exchange Student Committee is hosting a Culture Day Display Contest for students to celebrate and share their culture. We are accepting applications for you to create a display board poster that represents your culture. Students school wide will have the opportunity to view your displays on Culture Day, March 12th. If you are interested, scan the QR code located throughout the school. Fill out the Google Form outlining your plans. Upon approval, we'll supply you with a poster board and contest guidelines, along with contest due dates. There are first, second and third place prizes. First prize is a $100 Amazon gift card. The first Training Camp for the STMA Marching Band will be Sunday, Feb. 8th from 1-4pm in the DOME. No instruments are needed. Meet in the Dome, wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes or marching shoes, and bring water. Focus will be on body carriage and marching technique. Students in the Marching Band, Drumline, Color Guard or Honor Guard are encouraged to attend. If you are interested in Joining the Marching Knights, please see Ms. Abel in room 2222.

Are you interested in learning more about plants? Greenhouse to Garden: Plant Science might be the course for you! In this new course you will explore the world of plants and their role in the environment. This will be a hands-on course where you will not only read about plants but will utilize the school greenhouse to grow, dissect and experiment with them! This full day retreat (arrive at 8am) is focused on inspiring courage and positive school community. NHS is hosting a Holiday Gift Card and Wrapping paper drive from Dec- 1-10th. We are asking students to donate small denomination gift cards, $20 or less to your favorite places or holiday wrapping paper. All of these items will go to local teens in need and their families. All items should be new and unused. All items can be turned into your homeroom. One homeroom per grade will win a holiday party with donuts provided by NHS on December 19th. Some easy ways to participate:
1. The next time you stop for a coffee or at your favorite fast food establishment grab a gift card too.
2. Tell your parent to grab a few rolls of wrapping paper the next they make a target run or add it to your amazon cart.
3. Make a night of it, grab your friends and making a shopping run.

Freshmen - We are having a Veterans Day Program on Tuesday, 11/11/25. Due to space issues in the gym, we will have you watch the program in your homeroom. Please follow the schedule below for that day:
8:30-9:12: 1st hour class
9:18-10:00: 2nd hour class
10:00: Go to your homeroom - there will be a video and a live stream of the program
11:08: released to 3rd hour and the rest of the day is a Non-SNAP schedule.

You will be attending the Veterans Day Program on Tuesday, 11/11/25. We want to remind you of student expectations for the program including:
-This is a 45 minute formal event honoring people who dedicated their lives to serving our country.
-Please be courteous and respectful on the way to the gym, during the program and exiting the gym. This means standing when prompted, remaining quiet and being engaged.
-Students need to get to the gym and take a seat as quickly as possible (follow your 2nd hour teacher's directions).
-There will be a different schedule on 11/11/25 and you will not have homeroom. Go directly to 1st hour on that day.
1st hour: 8:30-9:12
2nd hour: 9:18-10:00
10:00-10:15: follow 2nd hour teacher's direction for releasing to gym

All returning and new STMA T&F athletes, the team store for new uniforms is now live. All athletes are required to buy their own uniform for the 2026 season and must order in the fall team store. This week, on Wednesday, October 29, and Thursday, October 30, counselors will be available all day to assist seniors in completing their college applications, exploring and discussing post-high school plans, applying through Direct Admissions, and supporting all things College and Career. Throughout October, many colleges in Minnesota are waiving their application fees. Students can stop by the career center any time throughout the day; no appointment is needed. However, students should check in with their teacher before arriving and will be sent back to class with a pass when finished.

Enjoy learning about math? Like challenges and competition? Join Math League! In Math League, students compete as both individuals and a school team against other area schools in events covering algebra, geometry, statistics, and other advanced topics. It is open to anyone in grades 9-12. Our first informational meeting is Monday, October 13th at 3:30 pm in room 1143 of the high school. Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Thursday, October 2nd. Students who have not had their school picture taken this year should plan to do so on Thursday. Students requesting retakes must bring their original photo package with them in order to have new pictures taken. Under The Sea Homecoming Dance Tickets are on sale now! All tickets this year are digital and must be purchased online by scanning the QR code (can be found around the building and in your email). On Thursday, October 9th juniors will have the opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT. This is an optional test that can qualify testers that score in the top 1-2% for National Merit Scholarships. This test will be administered online in the high school gym from 8-12:30. Students will be excused from class but will need to make-up any missed work. Registration is through Total Registration and a link has been emailed to parents/guardians.

The first fellowship of christian athletes meeting will be on Monday night September 15th at 6:30 PM ath Gutzwiller park near the pavillion. Anyone is welcome to attend. Digital pass training will take place during SNAP time in your homeroom on Tuesday, Sept 9. All students who are out of class are required to have the classroom pass on them while they are in the hallway. Students in the hallway without a pass will be brought back to the classroom or to the planning room.

Attention Juniors and Seniors who leave after 3rd hour and have D lunch: If you choose to eat lunch in the cafeteria during D lunch, you will be expected to stay in the cafeteria until the end of that lunch. You will not be allowed to leave until the light turns green.

The St. Michael Library is looking for volunteers again this summer to help with our Summer Reading Challenge! We would love to have your help in registering and informing kids about our great, fun summer reading program. We have flexible schedules available for volunteering with one to two hour shifts from June 9-August 9. Stop by the library circulation desk to complete a volunteer application and sign up on the volunteer schedule. Volunteer signup starts May 1.

This Friday morning our amazing Rolling Knights Adapted Bowling team will head to the state tournament at Bowlero Bowl in Brooklyn Park. We have 19 bowlers who qualified for state!! A couple of our bowlers are even ranked at the top of their divisions!

Join the Student Equity Club after school on Wednesday, May 7th in the Career Center when they host a student workshop. Learn about the harms of hate speech and how you can prevent it in your community. Freshman will be taking the Fastbridge Reading on Wednesday, 1/8/25, during an extended homeroom schedule. Please make sure you have a charged school-issued Chromebook. You will also need wired earbuds or headphones. Talk to your homeroom teacher if you do not own any. Also, please make sure your cell phones and Smart watches are put away during testing. You will be taking the Autoreading test and the Areading test. Make sure you do both.

Volunteers are needed on Thurs., Jan. 9th for the Courage Retreat through Youth Frontiers at Middle School West. This full day retreat (arrive at 8am) is focused on inspiring courage and positive school community. To attend, stop by the Counseling Office for a permission slip and return the signed form by Tues. Jan. 7th. You must have your own transportation and space is limited to 30 volunteers.
